The team

The Marketing and Business Development (BD) team work collaboratively to enhance the Broadfield’s brand and reputation whilst driving growth through key client development and targeting new business in key markets. 

Business development is a strategic priority for the firm and its growth path as Broadfield pursues its international trajectory. Recently opening its Hong Kong office, further developments are set to follow which provides an environment in which to take on challenges and develop professionally at pace.

The opportunity

Reporting to the Senior BD Manager, this is position will operate across the UK firm, working closely with Senior BD Manager, wider partnership and the marketing and BD team.

Key responsibilities:

BD strategy delivery support

  • Working with the Senior BD Manager to implement the firmwide BD strategy encompassing practice groups, sectors and markets, prioritizing the greatest areas of growth and opportunity for the firm

Collaborative working

  • Working closely with the BD and marketing team to support the firm’s growth plans and enhancing the Broadfield brand in the market

Sales mindset

  • Supporting the deployment of new approaches to winning work across the firm

Opportunity pipeline

  • Supporting a focus on the firm’s strategic priority sectors and markets to develop a pipeline of high-value work from existing and new clients

Research and analysis

  • Undertaking internal/external research and analysis on clients, targets, markets, competitors, rankings and helping identify key existing clients and targets for new business

Key Account Management 

  • Supporting in the delivery of a Key Account Management programme (client and referrer) and including account-based marketing programmes

Client feedback programmes

  • Working with the wider team, to assist with the client feedback programme driving insights directly into the client lifecycle and assisting the Senior BD Manager to use the feedback to influence strategy

Deal collection/experience lists

Capturing case and experience information, verifying descriptions and supporting information and recording in the relevant databases

Learning & Development

  • Assisting with the development of training sessions on BD fundamentals, skills and techniques to empower the lawyers to deliver their own business plans

Bid support

  • Providing support with high priority pitches and bids when required

Stakeholder engagement

  • Developing strong and lasting relationships across the firm

Reporting & analysis

  • Supporting with reporting and analysis to measure successes and ROI
